Abstract


This research is motivated by the low independence of children aged 5-6 years in the Jihad Indah Persada 2 Housing Complex, Padang City, which is suspected to have something to do with family education. The purpose of this study was to reveal a description of family education, the independence of children aged 5-6 years in the Jihad Indah Persada 2 Housing Complex, Padang City, and to reveal the relationship between family education and the independence of children aged 5-6 years in the Jihad Indah Persada 2 Housing Complex 2 Cities. field. This type of research is a descriptive correlational research with a quantitative approach. The population of this study is parents who have children aged 5-6 years in the Jihad Indah Persada 2 Housing Complex, Padang City, totaling 50 people and a sample of 75%, namely 37 people with a sampling technique that is srtatified random sampling. The data collection technique used is a questionnaire and the tool used is a questionnaire. The data analysis technique uses the percentage formula and the product moment formula. The results of this study indicate that: 1) family education in the Jihad Indah Persada 2 Housing Complex in Padang City is low; 2) the independence of children aged 5-6 years in the Jihad Indah Persada 2 Housing Complex in Padang City is low; 3) There is a significant relationship between family education and the independence of children aged 5-6 years in the Jihad Indah Persada 2 Housing Complex, Padang City.
