SPEKTRUM: Jurnal Pendidikan Luar Sekolah (PLS) was first published online in April 2013 by the Department of Non-Formal Education, Faculty of Education, Universitas Negeri Padang. SPEKTRUM: Jurnal Pendidikan Luar Sekolah (PLS) completed with ISSN: (p) 2338-2392 and (e) 2620-3308. Published twice a year in April and October. Since 2018 it has been published four times a year in February, May, August, and November.
SPEKTRUM: Jurnal Pendidikan Luar Sekolah (PLS) contains articles of research results and/or analytical-critical studies in the field of out-of-school education specifically on studies of adult education, community education, training, and human resource development, counseling, and community development. The specifications of the study are aimed at exploring, developing, and explaining knowledge about the history, philosophy, principles, policies, designs, and technologies used and developed in educational services outside the school system.

SPEKTRUM: Jurnal Pendidikan Luar Sekolah (PLS) plays a role and participates in efforts to support the preservation of the scientific tradition that is sourced from the theoretical study of researchers and the praxis experience of educational practitioners.
