Abstract
This research is motivated by the low ability to read the Koran, allegedly due to various factors, one of which is the intensity of participating in Koranic learning at TPQ Al Mu'min in Kenagarian Panti Timur, Panti District, Pasaman Regency. This study aims to see a description of the intensity of following the Koran learning, a description of the ability to read the Koran, the relationship between the intensity of participating in Koranic learning and the ability to read the Koran at TPQ Al Mu'min in Kenagarian Panti Timur, Panti District, Pasaman Regency. This type of research is correlational with a quantitative approach. The population of this study were all 45 students of the Qur'anic level at TPQ Al Mu'min aged 8-12 years. The research sample was taken 80%, namely as many as 36 people using purposive sampling technique. Data collection techniques used closed interviews and tests. Then for the data analysis technique used the percentage formula and product moment formula. The results of the study indicate that a) the intensity of participating in learning the Qur'an at TPQ Al Mu'min is still low; b) the ability to read the Koran at TPQ Al Mu'min is still low; c) there is a significant relationship between the intensity of participating in learning the Koran with the ability to read the Koran at TPQ Al Mu'min In Kenagarian Panti Timur, Panti District, Pasaman Regency
