Efektivitas Metode Picture and Picture untuk Meningkatkan Kemampuan dalam Menentukan Unsur-Unsur Intrinsik Cerita Pendek

Abstract


This study aimed to examine the effectiveness of the Picture and Picture method in enhancing the ability of Deaf students at SLB Negeri 1 Muaro Sijunjung to identify the intrinsic elements of a story. Utilizing a Single Subject Research (SSR) design with an A-B-A structure, data were collected through percentage scores and analyzed using visual graph analysis. Observations were conducted 16 times: during the initial baseline phase (A1), three observations indicated a stable level of 25% with no upward trend (=); in the intervention phase (B), six observations incorporating the Picture and Picture method demonstrated stable results at 100% for three consecutive sessions with an increasing trend (+); and in the final baseline phase (A2), three observations maintained a stable level of 100% with no further increase (=). The results of this study suggest that the Picture and Picture method is effective in improving Deaf students' ability to identify the intrinsic elements of short stories.
