Abstract


21st century skills are one of skills that must be obtained by students. Implementation of the 2013 curriculum to train and develop 21st Century skills can be done by applying STEM in science learning. The form of this research is analysis of journal articles obtained through online journals. There are 20 journals analyzed in this study and have been published in 2016-2021 consist of 16 national journals and 4 international journals by calculating the effect size. The results of data analysis showed that the effect of STEM in science learning on each level of education was in the high category with ES = 1.80 for high school, ES = 1.35 for junior high school, and ES = 0.60 for elementary school. The application of STEM in science learning has an effect on each type of 21st Century skills in the high category with ES = 1.85 for critical thinking, ES = 1.96 for creativity, ES = 1.29 for communication, and ES = 0.93 for collaboration. The application of STEM in science learning has an effect on the types of science subjects in the high category with ES = 1.20 for science, ES = 2.29 for physics, ES = 1.94 for biology, ES = 2.34 for chemistry.
