Abstract
The 21st century has challenges that we must prepare for. The challenge of this century is not only with local and national communities, but at the global level. All people of the world compete in various sectors. Quality human resources must be formed. What's more, this century also includes the era of the industrial revolution 4.0. 21st century skills are skills that need to be mastered by society so as not to be left behind by the global community. The 21st century skills in question are 4C skills. The four skills are communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and creativity. Critical thinking skills are one of the 4C skills that exist in this century. Critical thinking skills are students' ability to adapt in various situations and solve problems. The 2013 curriculum learning is in accordance with the skills needs of the 21st century, namely student-centered learning. To carry out a student-centered learning process, teachers must prepare learning materials. Teaching materials aim to facilitate the achievement of learning objectives. The teaching materials used must also be in accordance with the needs of this century. Teaching materials are currently widely used, but there are still many teachers who do not know what supports students' critical thinking skills. For this reason, it is necessary to conduct research related to how big the relationship between teaching materials is to integrated critical thinking skills to learning outcomes and students' critical thinking skills. Research is needed to find out how big the size of the influence of teaching materials on critical thinking skills. This is done so that teachers can choose and use teaching materials that help in developing students' critical thinking skills. The data from 20 research journals that were collected showed that the study materials studied were quite large, which was indicated by the level of description of the size of these materials.
