Abstract


This study aims to develop an Android-based interactive Indonesian language learning application for junior high school students to address the limitations and learner disengagement associated with conventional teaching methods. The mobile learning approach was adopted to provide flexible access to educational content without constraints of time and location. This study employed a pure Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) approach, consisting of four stages: system requirements analysis, user interface design, source code implementation, and internal testing. The application was developed using the Expo React Native framework to deliver a responsive user interface, while Supabase was utilized as the Backend-as-a-Service (BaaS) infrastructure for database management. The study resulted in an operational Android application prototype featuring dynamic learning modules, interactive quizzes, and a real-time synchronized leaderboard. The findings demonstrate that the integration of modern frontend and backend technologies successfully produced an innovative educational software application with robust security through Row-Level Security (RLS) implementation and stable performance, making it suitable for subsequent empirical evaluation.
