Abstract


This research aims to describe the moral values in North Sumatra Regional Folklore. The research approach used in this research is a qualitative approach. This research is included in the descriptive type. The data in this research are all words, sentences and dialogues that contain moral values obtained from data sources, namely the folklore “Asal Usul Padi Pulut”, “Terjadinya Danau Laut Tador”, and “Anak yang Baik Hati” which are summarized in the book “Ceritera Rakyat Daerah Sumatera Utara”. The results of research on three folk tales from the Dairi Region of North Sumatra, “Asal Usul Padi Pulut”, “Terjadinya Danau Laut Tador”, and “Anak yang Baik Hati”, contain 3 moral values, including the human relationship with himself, the moral value of the human relationship with others, and the moral value of the human relationship with God. With 18 attitude information data, namely disgraceful, diligent, humble, wise and wise, polite, helpful, obedient, never give up, honest, kind, respectful to parents, obedient, remembering services and repaying parents, hardworking, praying to God, as well as being disobedient to parents and God's retribution for figures.
