Abstract


This study aims to determine the effect of resource-based learning model assisted by photo story media on news text writing skills. This research was conducted at SMA Negeri 1 Parung with a population of class XI totaling 306 students and a research sample of 63 students divided into 2 groups, namely class XI-2 as the experimental class totaling 33 students and class XI-3 as the control class totaling 30 students. This research method uses quantitative methods with post-test-only research design. The learning method applied was resource-based learning method assisted by photo story media. This method is applied so that students become more active, knowledgeable, think critically, and be imaginative. There is a significant effect on the experimental class that is given treatment, namely by applying the resource-based learning model with the help of photo story media, while the control class does not get treatment. The instrument used is a description test that has been validated by experts. The average score achieved between the experimental class and the control class shows a significant difference, the experimental class gets an average score of 85.70 and the control class 59.83. So it can be concluded that there is an effect of the resource-based learning model assisted by photo story media.
