Abstract
MSMEs can be the backbone of a country's economy, because their form of business can revive a declining economy. Therefore, it is necessary to improve business performance through ownership of a Business Identification Number (BIN). BIN is an identification mark for business actors which is useful for making it easier for MSMEs to expand their businesses. Bengkalis Regency is one of the regencies that has many MSMEs with various types of businesses, especially in the culinary sector because Bengkalis is one of the tourist cities in Riau Province. It is very important for MSMEs in Bengkalis to have a BIN. This study aims to analyze the factors that influence BIN ownership in MSMEs in Bengkalis Regency. This research method uses a quantitative approach by distributing questionnaires to MSME owners in various sectors in Bengkalis City. The collected data were analyzed using logistic regression techniques to identify the relationship between independent variables such as age, education level, income, length of business and number of workers to the BIN ownership variable (valued 1 if they have a NIB and 0 if they do not have a BIN). The results of the study show that factors such as education level, number of workers, length of business and type of business have a positive and significant effect on BIN ownership, while age and income variables do not have a significant effect on BIN ownership in MSMEs in Bengkalis.
