Abstract

The purpose of this research was (1) Explain the factors that cause students of Department of Sociology FIS UNP using deceit identities on their Facebook account, (2) Describe the form of the use of deceit identities by the students of Department of Sociology at the social network Facebook. The data of this research were 80 people out of 103 people where the number of students of the Department of Sociology class of 2008 who use deceit identities on their Facebook accounts by various criteria. Sources of research data are the primary data and secondary data. Primary data is the result of interviews with researchers informant interviews either directly or via chat. Secondary data is data from the observation of participation and documentation of relevant agencies, namely the Department of Sociology FIS UNP.
