Abstract
Being a businessman is the right alternative. At least, with
entrepreneurship means to provide employment for themselves do not need to
depend on others and when, the more advanced efforts will create jobs for others.
School is a source of science and technology and make the School as well as a
place to forge yourself, improve skills. Schools provide opportunities to master
the field of science that can support the business. Departing from the thinking of
researchers interested in conducting research with the title"Student Interest in the
field of Entrepreneurship Workshop Motorcycles Department of Mechanical
Engineering and Automotive SMK Negeri1 Padang". The purpose of the study to
obtain in formation about the high interest in entrepreneurship held by the
students of Mechanical Engineering and Automotive SMK Negeri1 Padang.
The study population is a Class XI student of SMK Negeri 1 Padang by the
number of 85students. Samples were taken as many as 85studentsasthe sample.
The variables of this research is in the field of student interest in entrepreneurship
workshop motorcycles Department of Mechanical Engineering and Automotive
SMK Negeri1Padang. Data retrieved through questionnaire method.
Descriptive analysis obtained an average score of 44.62 , with a percentage
of 291.92 % and a higher category . Among the intrinsic and extrinsic factor
extrinsic factor turns ( 44.62 % ) provide greater support than the intrinsic factor (
39.76 % ). In terms of individual interest in entrepreneurship indicators for
intrinsic and extrinsic factors in mind that the support given by the community the
highest ( 44.62 % ), followed by opportunities for entrepreneurship ( 41.50 % ),
income ( 39.76 % ), self-esteem ( 38.76 % ), education ( 36.47 % ) , Iingkugan
family ( 34.83 % ) feeling happy ( 34.50 % ) who had a high category . Referring
to the results of the study researchers can apply the conclusion that students'
interest in entrepreneurship workshops in the field of motorcycle and automotive
engineering majors SMK Negeri 1 Padang is high with the highest support given
by supported factors of society that is equal to 44.62 % . The advice to the authors
proposed that the party organizations and in particular the Department of
entrepreneurship means to provide employment for themselves do not need to
