Abstract


This study begins with learning outcomes of students who have not been
optimal. This is caused by the low level of motivation, which can be seen from the
lack of attention to the lesson students practice basic welding training electric
eye. Issues raised in this study is whether there is a significant contribution to the
study of motivation on learning outcomes in basic welding electric eye training
class X student of Mechanical Engineering Department of SMK Negeri 1 Bonjol.
This research is quantitative correlation. Data sources are students on the
basis of electric welding eye training class X student of Mechanical Engineering
Department of SMK Negeri 1 Bonjol. The sample was selected using random
sampling techniques to obtain the sample size is 49 people. The instrument used in
this study was a questionnaire distributed to respondents and student learning
outcomes derived from practical exercises.
The results showed that the motivation toward positive student learning
outcomes significantly correlated with the level of 95% by 0621. This means that
the higher the motivation to learn, the learning outcomes are likely to increase.
Thus H1 which states that there is a contribution between learning motivation on
learning outcomes of students on the basis of electric welding training class X
Automotive Engineering Department of SMK Negeri 1 Bonjolaccepted. While the
analysis of the coefficient of determination of 38.56%, in the medium category.
