Abstract
Abstract - The availability of fast and stable internet access is essential to support community activities, particularly in rural areas. This study designs and implements a hotspot network based on Mikrotik using the Network Development Life Cycle (NDLC) method in Desa Sumokembangsri, Balongbendo, Sidoarjo. NDLC provides a structured approach to network development through initiation, analysis, design, implementation, testing, and documentation stages. The implemented hotspot network provides adequate internet coverage and stability for local residents. Network performance was evaluated using throughput, delay, and packet loss metrics to ensure quality of service. Security configuration and bandwidth management via Mikrotik devices further improve network efficiency. The novelty of this study lies in its application of the NDLC method combined with Mikrotik in a rural context, offering a replicable model for underdeveloped regions. The results contribute to rural network development and promote digital literacy in underserved communities.
