Abstract
This paper aims at describing the ability of cultural art teachers ar SMK Negeri 1 South Solok. The theory used in this study related to theories of teaching and learning, teachers' ability in giving instruction, and cultural arts intructional material at school. The research finidng showed that teachers' ability in teaching cultural art at SMK Negeri 1 South Solok is "quite good". However, by this attribut, of course, it still has strength and weakness. The weakness of the teachers at this school is that the teachers do not use the instructional media and did not do an evaluation as the researcher conducted observations. The strength of teachers is that the teachers’ ability in preparing intructional material is very good.
