Abstract


ABSTRACT: The effectiveness of teaching strategies to use humor in improving student achievement in mathematics study. This research begin from the phenomenon that are low learning achievement student in X High School at Bukittinggi, and that make the researcher try to find a way to increase learning achievement.  This is a experiment research with pretest-posttest control group design. Subject on this research are 20 students and devided in two group using randomization technic. This research proffed that Teaching Strategies with Humor was effective to increase learning achievement student in Bukittinggi X High School. Result from Mann-Whitney U with Z = -3,772 and p = 0.000 (P < 0.05).

ABSTRAK: Efektivitas strategi mengajar menggunakan humor dalam meningkatan prestasi siswa pada pelajaran matematika: Penelitian ini berawal dari fenomena rendahnya prestasi belajar siswa kelas X Di SMA X Bukittinggi, sehingga mendorong peneliti mencari upaya yang dapat meningkatkan prestasi belajar siswa. Jenis penelitian ini adalah eksperimen dengan desain pretest-posttest control group design. Subjek penelitian sebanyak 20 siswa dan dibagi ke dalam dua kelompok dengan menggunakan teknik randomisasi. Penelitian ini membuktikan strategi mengajar menggunakan humor efektif untuk meningkatkan prestasi belajar siswa di SMA X Bukittinggi. Hasil dari uji Mann-Whitney U dengan Z= -3.772 dan nilai p = 0.000 (p < 0.05).
