Abstract: Differences between satisfaction wedding couples at home and separated from the parent/laws. This research was conducted divorce phenomenon cases that occur as a result of dissatisfaction with couple to the interference of parents or in-laws. This prompted the researchers to determine differences in marital satisfaction among couples who live with their parents/in-laws with couples who live apart from their parents/in-laws. Descriptive quantitative research using 38-item Likert scale. Scale reliability was analyzed through Cronbach Alpha formula. Subjects 60 persons. Data analyzed using different test methods (t-test). The t-test results analysis, (r) 0.870 with p=0.001 (p<0.05). It is advisable for couples to live apart from their parents/in-laws in order to get the marriage satisfaction.

Abstrak : Perbedaan kepuasan pernikahan antara pasutri yang serumah dan yang terpisah dari orangtua/mertua. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan fenomena banyak kasus perceraian yang terjadi akibat ketidakpuasan pasangan dikarenakan adanya campur tangan orangtua atau mertuanya. Hal ini mendorong peneliti untuk mengetahui perbedaan kepuasan pernikahan antara pasutri yang tinggal bersama orang tua/mertua dengan pasutri yang tinggal terpisah dari orang tua/mertua. Jenis penelitian kuantitatif deskriptif menggunakan skala Likert dengan 38 aitem. Reliabilitas  skala dianalisis melalui formula Alpha Cronbach. Subjek penelitian 60 orang di kota Bukittinggi. Data dianalisis menggunakan metode uji beda (t-test). Hasil analisis t-test yaitu (r) sebesar 0,870 dengan p= 0,001 (p<0,05). Sehingga disarankan bagi pasutri untuk tinggal terpisah dari orang tua/mertua agar mendapat kepuasan pernikahan.
