Abstract

Zaman sekarang kebanyakan wanita tidak lagi hanya menjadi ibu rumah tangga tetapi juga ikut bekerja. Tuntutan perekonomian dan tingginya kompetitif di dunia kerja, mengharuskan ibu bekerja untuk memiliki komitmen besar dalam bekerja, namun dilain pihak banyaknya permasalahan anak dan remaja yang terjadi saat ini juga menuntut orangtua untuk mendedikasikan banyak waktu untuk keluarga terutama memberikan pengasuhan positif bagi anak. Menyeimbangkan tuntutan mengasuh anak dan tuntutan pekerjaan merupakan tantangan besar bagi ibu bekerja pada zaman ini. Adanya konflik peran ganda ini (Work Family Conflict) diduga dapat menimbulkan tekanan psikologi dalam mengasuh anak (parenting stress). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji pengaruh work family conflict terhadap parenting stress pada ibu yang bekerja. Penelitian dilakukan kepada 209 ibu bekerja di kota padang. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kuantitatif terhadap data yang dikumpulkan menggunakan skala konflik kerja-keluarga (work-family conflict scale) dan Parenting stress scale. Hasil uji hipotesis dengan menggunakan analisis regresi sederhana menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan work family conflict terhadap parenting stress pada ibu yang bekerja.
