Abstract


Heart disease is the biggest cause of death in the world. This disease allows sufferers to die suddenly. This condition affects the psychological condition of the patient, one of which is anxiety. One cause of the emergence of anxiety and aggravate the condition of heart health is a rejection of the condition of the self. Therefore psychotherapy based on self-acceptance or mindfulness is thought to reduce patient anxiety. This study aims to see whether mindfulness-based psychotherapy programs can reduce anxiety in heart disease patients. The method used in this study is one group pretest-posttest design using Wilcoxon Signed-Ranks analysis and added with descriptive analysis. Research subjects numbered 3 people. The results showed that mindfulness-based psychotherapy program was not able to significantly reduce anxiety of heart disease patients. Nonetheless clinical or descriptive analysis shows that there is an increase in self-acceptance and decreased anxiety scores.
