STRATEGI PEMBELAJARAN UNTUK MENGATASI PERILAKU TANTRUM PADA ANAK AUTISTIK
Abstract
Research findings show formulations of instructional strategy that can overcome tantrum behaviour on a child with autism are (1) the importance of assessment to know the child’s needs; (2) the importance of supportive facilities that can reduce head collision on the wall; (3) The importance of curriculum analysis that fit the child’s need; (4) the importance of lesson analysis that fit the child development; (5) the importance of teaching aids that support the learning process; (6) the importance of handling reinforcement that motivate child in learning. By using all the instructional strategy above, the research shows positive result that is reducing tantrum behaviour on a child with autism during learning process. The implications of instructional strategy toward student are (1) able to reduce tantrum behaviour on a child with autism; (2) able to develop self confident on child with autism; (3) able to develop communication skill, both verbal and non verbal, on a child with autism; (4) able to motivate the child in learning; (5) able to develop the child’s initiative in learning. The implications of the strategy toward teachers are (1) able to make analysis on child behaviour before making decision to overcome problems; (2) able to motivate teacher in dealing with a child with autism who has tantrum behaviour; (3) able to motivate teachers find effective strategy to develop child with autism potency; (4) able to give optimistic value on teachers in finding a way out on child behaviour. Based on the research result above, teachers are recommended to use the instructional strategy on child with autism who has tantrum behaviour.
