Abstract


This study is based on the challenges faced by eighth-grade students, specifically Kh and Rr, in the keterampilan vokasional classroom at SLB Al-Azhar Bukittinggi.One of the sewing skills learned by children is an apron. An apron is a tool used to cover clothes on the front of the body to the knees to keep them clean from stains and dirt. To help improve children's abilities, this study utilizes video tutorial media as a teaching aid in learning. This study uses a type of classroom action research where the researcher is the observer and the teacher is the provider of the action, this study consists of two cycles, namely: cycle I and cycle II. The data collection methods collected are in the form of documentation, tests, and observations which are analyzed in qualitative and quantitative forms. Before the action was given in learning vocational skills sewing aprons, the results of the study were obtained from the data that had been collected previously, namely students with the initials Kh obtained a score of (37%) and Rr (42%). Meanwhile, after being given action in cycle I, the children's abilities began to show an increase, namely Kh (62%) and Rr (74%). Because the increase was not optimal, action was taken in cycle II, namely Kh (91%) and Rr (94%). So, it can be concluded that video tutorial media can help improve vocational skills in sewing aprons.
