Abstract


The discussion of this article examines efforts to improve menstrual pad use skills in children with mild mental retardation with direct instruction. Menstrual self-care skills for individuals (females) including children with mental retardation are important to master, because they will affect reproductive health. This research uses a quantitative research type with an experimental approach in the form of Single Subject Research (SSR) and A-B-A design. information is analyzed by visual graphic analysis. The results of this study indicate that three observations were carried out with 16 meetings. In the first condition, namely baseline (A1) there were four meetings with stable results at a score of 28.5. Then in the second condition, namely intervention (B) there were eight meetings with stable score results at 78.5. And the third condition was carried out with 4 meetings and a score of 85.7 was obtained in a stable state. After being analyzed, direct instruction can improve children's skills in using menstrual pads
