ABSTRACT

This research was motivated by teacher X teaches autistic children, mentally retarded children, and deaf children in one class at SLB Autisma YPPA Padang. Teacher X teaches children appropriate with their interests and abilities. So that the child get the achievement in coloring subject. This study uses a case study approach with qualitative research methods. The process of collecting data in this research was carried out through observation, interviews and documentation. The results of this research show that how to teach teacher X, that was the teacher teaches autistic children with structured, eye contact and voice direction. The teacher guides and directs children appropriate with their interests. Teaching materials and media that the teacher uses are very interesting, so children are motivated to learn. Teacher X can speak sign language and communicate with autistic children. The subject of material and evaluation were adjusted to the children abilities.

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh guru X mengajar anak autis, anak tunagrahita, dan anak tunarungu dalam satu kelas di SLB Autisma YPPA Padang. Guru X mengajar anak sesuai dengan minat dan kemampuan anak. Sehingga anaknya berprestasi dibidang mewarnai. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan studi kasus dengan metode penelitian kualitatif. Proses pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara serta studi dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian ini mengungkapkan cara mengajar guru X yaitu Guru mengajar anak autis dengan terstruktur, kontak mata dan keterarahan suara. Guru membimbing dan mengarahkan anak sesuai minat. Bahan ajar dan media yang guru gunakan sangat menarik, sehingga anak termotivasi untuk belajar. Guru X mampu berbahasa isyarat dan berkomunikasi dengan anak autis. Materi pelajaran dan evaluasi disesuaikan dengan kemampuan anak.
