Abstract
This study investigates the impact of a one-minute challenge video project on TikTok in improving students’ speaking skills. The participants were 25 ninth-grade students from class IX.4 at SMP 3 Bukittinggi. Focusing on speaking aspects such as pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary, and fluency, this research applied a pre-experimental design using one group pre-test and post-test. The data were collected through oral speaking tests that focused on students’ daily activity and analyzed using a paired sample t-test in SPSS. The results showed a significant improvement in students' speaking skills, with the significance value (2-tailed) of 0.000 which is less than 0.05. This indicates that the TikTok video project effectively improved students’ by encouraging them to prepare scripts, practice speaking, and record themselves. Additionally, by integrating social media platforms like TikTok into project-based learning can support students’ speaking skill in a creative, interactive, and engaging learning project.
