Abstract

Vocabulary is the basic aspect to learn and master in English. This study aimed to analyze student’s difficulties in mastering vocabulary. Descriptive qualitative research was employed in this study. The eleventh-grade students were the population of this research. There were 100 students obtained as the sample through the simple random sampling method. Data were collected through a questionnaire including 4 aspects. The collected data were analyzed using the descriptive technique. The results revealed that pronunciation become their main problem when they are going to master the vocabulary, followed by teaching and learning process, students’ attitude and behavior, grammar, word meaning, and spelling.
