Abstract

To determine the extent to which vlogs aid SMA N 1 Painan students in developing their speaking abilities, a pre-experimental technique was employed. The research sample was chosen from Class XI F1 using a rigorous sampling procedure, with a focus on the school's advanced class XI pupils. Pre-tests and post-tests, which were oral speaking assessments, were used to gather data throughout the eight meetings that comprised the research. Before drafting a report that contained pertinent information and descriptions of the things they had examined, students were required to view a variety of images throughout the assessments. With a mean pre-test score of 50.77 and a mean post-test score of 59.87, the data analysis showed that the students' speaking abilities had improved considerably. Moreover, Using paired sample t-test analysis, a two-tailed p-value (sig. 2-tailed) of less than 0.000, or below the cutoff of 0.05, was discovered. The alternative hypothesis (H1) was accepted and the null hypothesis (H0) was rejected in light of the findings. Accordingly, the results imply that vlogs are a useful strategy for enhancing students' public speaking abilities.
