Abstract


This study aims to determine students’ perception of using cardboard in improving writing skills at Eleventh Grade of SMKN2 Batam, divided into five aspects: content, organization, vocabulary, grammar, and mechanics. The sample in this research comprised from the 11th grade of Culinary Industry and Culinary 2 classes at SMKN 2 Batam with a total of 64 students. Descriptive approach is used in this research, incorporating quantitative method. By using questionnaire, there were 5 questions for five each aspect: content, organization, vocabulary, grammar, and mechanics, which 25 questions in total. The researcher used descriptive statistical analysis in SPSS and shows an overall highly positive result, on content (3.44), organization (3.44), vocabulary (3.38), grammar (3.45), and mechanics (3.49). It shows that cardboard media was positively increase students’ writing skill.
