Abstract


Technology today has played a crucial part in developing the world, especially in education. One of the new media technologies that can be used for students in learning is Spotify Podcast.The purpose of this study is to investigate students' perception about the use of Spotify Podcast towards students speaking skills. The research design used in this study is quantitative design. This study used a purposive sampling technique and the sample was 36 students in the eleventh grade of SMAN 1 Sungai Geringging who had downloaded and experienced using Spotify Podcast in learning. The data were collected using a questionnaire. The findings revealed that students have a positive perception that using Spotify Podcats can enhance their grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and comprehension skills. Although in the fluent aspect it was found that students perception still have difficulties in fluency of speaking. These difficulties arise from issues such as students not practice often and rarely trying to communicate with each other using English and native speakers. All in all, the students had an overall positive perception of the use of Spotify Podcast towards their speaking skills.
