Abstract

This article discussed of the essential of civic education in a country and the teaching material of civic education in a democratic country. Civic education is a part of education a the school system in order to educate the citizens to be a good citizen The good citizens should meet the requirements, among them are having knowledge, having values or disposition and skills to live in a democratic country. Moreover, the teaching materials should be contained by civic education are minimal democracy, constitutionalism, rights, citizenship, civil society, market economy and tension constitutional liberal democracy
