Abstract
This research explores environmental degradation through an ecocritical analysis of three contemporary poems: "Mother Earth" by Dave Mottram (2020), "Warned" by Sylvia Stults (2015), and "Make It Green" by Avani Desai (2014). The research examines how these poems portray issues such as deforestation, pollution, habitat loss, climate change, over-exploitation, and biodiversity loss. The research use ecocriticism theory Garrad (2004). The research is content analysis. The data used are quotation from poetry which are analyzed using poetic elements speaker, irony, personification, imagery, tone, and repetition. The findings highlight the poets' use of literary devices to raise awareness and provoke thought about the ongoing environmental crisis. This research contributes to the field of ecocriticism by demonstrating the power of poetry in addressing ecological issues and advocating for environmental preservation.
