Abstract

This study aims to find the four primary methods proposed by Newmark used in the Novel “Pulang” by Leila S. Chudori with its English translated version “Home” by John H. McGlynn. A qualitative method was used in this study to analyze the translation methods applied in the epilogue of Pulang by Leila S. Chudori and the results show that various translation methods such as adaptation, free translation, idiomatic translation, and communicative translation were being used in the novel. This study highlights the importance of selecting appropriate translation methods to enhance the readability and relatability of translated texts when translating it into Indonesian language.
