Code Mixing Used in Layangan Putus Series

Abstract

AbstractThe purpose of this research is to find the type of code mixing and the function of code mixing used by the actors in Layangan Putus Series. The data in this research are the utterances spoken by the actors in Layangan Putus Series. This research is made using qualitative descriptive method. This research uses the theory of Muysken (2000) to find the type of code mixing and uses the theory of Marasigan (1983) cited from Putri (2001). The results of this research show that alternation code mixing is most widely used in the speech of the actors in Layangan Putus Series from the three types of code mixing, namely; insertion, alternation, and congruent lenxicalization. Meanwhile, the interjection function is the most commonly found in the code mixing utterances in this study from the seven functions of code mixing, namely; quotation, address specification, repeatition, interjection, message qualification, personalization and objectification, and facility expression.
