EKSPLORASI KARAKTERISTIK PEREKENOMIAN PROVINSI SUMATERA BARAT MENGGUNAKAN ANALISIS BIPLOT

Abstract

ABSTRACT

One measure of economic growth of a region is the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP). Each region has a potential sectors, which can support to economic structure West Sumatra. A region must find out the position of supporting the success of its economic growth, and it is highly related to the management of available resources. Therefore, the goal this research is to look at the characteristics of the GRDP of each Regency Municipalities at West Sumatra Province. Biplot describe most of the characteristics economics at regency focuses on the agricultural sector, such as Mentawai Islands and Pasaman. While these regency underdeveloped in the transportation and communications sector, the electricity sector, the financial sector and the service sector. It is inversely related to five Municipalities (Bukittinggi, Padang Panjang, Padang, Solok, Payakumbuh and Sawahlunto) which has almost as of Euclidean distance. This is caused the negative correlation value. Beside that, Sijunjung and Pariaman are dominated by mining sector and building / construction sector. Biplot able to explain it well at 71.25% of the overall information contained in the data.
