STUDI MORFOLOGI SERBUK SARI PADA BEBERAPA VARIETAS Coleus scutellarioides L.
Abstract
The purpose of this study to determine the pollen morphology of seven varieties of Coleus. The research was conducted in the laboratory of Botany Department of Biological Science State University of Padang, from April-May 2012. Pollen preparations made by the asetolisis method and 1% safranin staining. The seven varieties were observed using a light microscope (LM) with a magnification of 40x10, use a micrometer to measure. The data obtained were analyzed descriptively. The observation of 7 varieties of Coleus show common is pollen unit monad, polarity isopolar type, radial symmetry, the number of apertures 6 with type colpate located in equatorial (Stephano), and surface-shaped reticulate pollen. While the form of pollen to 7 varieties can be divided into 3 groups, prolate spheroidal shapes found in var. Eleanor only, which are generally found in the form subprolate var. Batique Fetish, var. Fack, var. Apricot, var. Burgundy Giant, var. Eleanor, and var. Flambe and then prolate shapes found in var. Batique Fetish, var. Fack, and var. Va Va Boom.
