Abstract


Certification has brought big advantages of teacher that have certificated because they have gotten advantages of certification program. Fact shows that, the teacher don’t feel that advantage, because there are many problems in rule or regulation of professional teacher. They must teach 24 hours in a week. On the other hand, in a certain area, amount of available teacher is more than required teacher. The objective of this research is to find the problems of professional teacher in west Sumatera Province base on amount of teaching is 24 hours. Research method is descriptive research. Instrument of research is questionnaire. The characteristic of questionnaire is open and close types. As samples in this research are teacher both after certification and before certification, honor teacher, and candidate teacher on S2 program. Sampling techniques in this research are accidental and snowball sampling. Data is analyzed by using descriptive statistic and qualitative techniques. Base on the analysis of the data can be stated that some problems of teachers in school as following: teachers can’t fulfill 24 hours in a week, they don’t focus in initial school, honor teacher can’t get amount hours to teach, teacher feel disappointed to fulfill 24 hours, the relationship between two teachers or more are not conducive because they need 24 hours in a week, teacher feel little time and power to make a good learning plan, and candidate teachers of a university are worry to get a job as teacher.
