Abstract


The background of this writing because of frequent occurrence of floods in Indonesia that can lead to loss of life and property. This is caused because of the lack of information that is given to communities around areas prone to flooding. Then need a solution quickly and accurately, to reduce the loss that caused one of which is to make an early detection system and flood hazard information based Microcontroller ATmega8535. This tool is designed and made ​​by using two ultrasonic sensors PING))) distance to obtain water surface elevation of the sensor. Distance is read by the sensor will be displayed on the LCD and 3 LED indicator and an SMS will be sent to the mobile receiver according to the height and level of the water surface of the sensor. Of the overall test results, obtained that it works according to the designed parameters of each component, with an error rate of 2.44% and the percentage of the average delivery of information via SMS is 8.5 seconds.
