Abstract


This study begins with learning outcomes of students who have not been
optimal. This is thought to be caused by motivational factors and learning is still
low, which can be seen from the lack of attention to students' learning and many
students were late for class. This study aims to describe and express the
relationship between motivation and learning on learning outcomes eyes electric
arc welding training class students majoring in mechanical engineering smk x 5
desert country.
Types of research used in this study was a descriptive quantitative research.
The population in this study were all class X students of Mechanical Engineering
Department field SMK N 5 academic year 2012/2013 as many as 95 people. The
samples are 49 people using the formula Slovin the quotation Riduwan with
random sampling method. Primary data were collected through a questionnaire
and the results taken from the value of learning in mid semester. The collected
data is then statistically analyzed with correlation and regression techniques
using SPSS version 16.0.
Results of data analysis that (1) There is a relationship motivation toward
learning outcomes of 12.4%, (2) There is a relationship means learning on
learning outcomes by (10.3%), (3) There is a relationship between motivation and
learning ways together on learning outcomes by (17.2%). Based on the above
findings, it can be concluded that the motivation and learning are the two factors
that give relationship to the learning outcomes of electric arc welding. Thus,
teachers are expected to enter and to provide guidance to students so they can
learn how to improve the motivation and training of the eye arc welding litrik in
SMK N 5 fields to give a better learning results again.
