Abstract


School is the institution where the course of the learning go on. Learning is
essentially a process of interaction of the situation around the individual. To achieve
the goal in the learning activities, there are several components that can support it that
is, objective component, the component materials, the components of teaching and
learning strategies, and evaluation components. Strategy is a learning activity that
should be done so that the teacher and student learning objectives can be achieved
effectively and efficiently. The purpose of this research is to improve the learning
outcomes of students of class X TPM SMK N 2 Sawahlunto on subject measuring with
mechanical precision measuring tools with contextual teaching learning.
The methods tipe this research is action research, while research subjects were
students of class X TPM SMK N 2 Sawahlunto in the second semester of academic at
year 2012/2013 with the number of students is 28. Data collection techniques in this
study is observation, while the data collection tool used was a test and observation
sheet. The collected data were analyzed using qualitative and quantitative techniques
percentage.
The results showed that the skills and learning outcomes of students of class X
TPM SMK N 2 Sawahlunto after following study with contextual teaching learning
increased from cycle I to cycle II. Based on the research that has been done can be
concluded that the model of contextual learning in subjects Measuring with mechanical
precision measuring tools of learning can improve learning outcomes.
