Abstract


This research aims to improve student learning outcomes by applying contextual learning in technical drawing subject. Type of research is a classroom action research are applied to the class X TP-A SMK Negeri 1 Padang by the number of students 32. Technique of collecting data in this research was the observation of the teacher and students who conducted at each meeting using the observation formats, and tests conducted at the end of each cycle. The data collected was analyzed qualitatively while quantitative data were analyzed with a reference to the criteria of score interpretation techniques. Research results show that contextual learning methods improve student learning outcomes. Exhaustiveness learning outcomes students in the first cycle of 46.87%, 71.87% for the second cycle and the third cycle of 87.5%. Percentage of the third cycle has reached the minimum the criteria of classical completeness, so it can be concluded that contextual learning improve student learning outcomes in subject engineering drawings.
