Abstract

This research is motivated by the many learning outcomes of students have
not reached school set KKM especially in Engineering Drawing subject, this
requiring appropriate learning model to overcome this problem. For this reason
the use of the learning model could be expected to affect the reward system to
improve student learning outcomes. This study objective to know the effect of
reward on learning outcomes of students in technical drawing subjects in class XI
of Mechanical Engineering at SMK Padang N 5. The hypothesis of this study in
the learning effect by providing a significant reward to the student learning
outcomes. This study is an experimental that to compare the learning outcomes of
students who learn by giving rewards to student learning outcomes without
reward. The population of his study were students of class XI SMK Padang N 5
totaling 59 students consists of 3 classes. The sampling technique was purposive
sampling, in class XI M 1 as the experimental class XI and class M 2 as the
control class. Both classes totaling 59 students. The type of data in this study are
student learning outcomes data obtained from the value of the final test of 20
objective questions and one essay done the research and the data source is the
student's grades. Then the data were processed with t test (t-test).From the
research, the average value of the students' learning of the reward to the students
(78.95) is higher than without the learning of the reward to the students (74.5).
Test results t count> t table, ie 3.058> 2.021 indicates that there are significant
differences between the two classes. It can be concluded that the use of learning
Engineering Drawing with the reward of learning is more effective when
compared with the results of student learning without the reward system in SMK
N 5 Padang at 0.05 confidence level á. Thus the reward being a consideration in
the study, so as to obtain better learning results.
