Abstract


The phenomenon was found in the field of student learning outcomes in
subjects Electric Arc Welding Basics class X SMK Negeri 2 Payakumbuh still
low. Many factors can cause low learning outcomes, including students'
motivation in choosing Welding Engineering Skills Program. The purpose of this
study was to reveal the relationship between motivation choose Welding
Engineering Skills Program with student learning outcomes in subjects Electric
Arc Welding Basics class X SMK Negeri 2 Payakumbuh. Types of quantitative
research methods koresional. The population in this study were all students of
class X in 2011/2012, amounting to 60 people in SMK Negeri 2 Payakumbuh.
Samples were taken whole class X (total sampling), because the total population
of less than 100 people. Based on the analysis of the data found that: there is a
relationship between motivation choose Welding Engineering program expertise
with student learning outcomes in subjects Electric Arc Welding Basics class X
SMK Negeri 2 Payakumbuh, it can be seen from the test of the hypothesis on the
correlation coefficient of 0.263. Since r count> of r tables, 0263> 0254, then the
presence of a significant and acceptable level of 95%. This means that there is a
relationship with the motivation to choose programming skills student learning
outcomes. The better the students' motivation in choosing Welding Engineering
program expertise, the better the learning outcomes of students.
