Perbedaan perolehan Theory of Mind Second Order Belief anak usia sekolah dasar ditinjau berdasarkan jenis kelamin

Abstract


Abstract: The ability to understand the mental states and beliefs of others is called Theory of Mind. This research aims to examine the differences in the acquisition of Second Order Belief Theory of Mind in elementary school-aged children, based on gender. The focus of this research is on Second Order Theory of Mind. The research method used is quantitative with a comparative approach. The research subjects are 60 children from 4th and 5th grades in Elementary School X in Padang City, with 30 girls and 30 boys. The measurement was done by adapting the concept of the false-belief task SOB developed by Perner and Wimmer (1985). The research results found that there is no significant difference in Theory of Mind based on gender. However, the mean scores for boys were slightly higher than those for girls.

 

Abstrak: Kemampuan memahami keadaan mental dan keyakinan orang lain disebut Theory of Mind. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat perbedaan perolehan Theory of Mind Second Order Belief anak usia sekolah dasar ditinjau berdasarkan jenis kelamin. Penelitian ini berfokus pada ToM tingkat kedua. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu kuantitatif dengan pendekatan komparatif. Subjek penelitian ini adalah anak di Sekolah Dasar X Kota Padang kelas 4 dan 5 yang berjumlah 60 orang dengan 30 perempuan dan 30 laki-laki. Diukur dengan mengadaptasi konsep false-belief task SOB Perner dan Wimmer (1985). Hasil penelitian menemukan bahwa tidak adanya perbedaan jenis kelamin terhadap ToM secara signifikan. Namun, perolehan mean skor anak laki-laki sedikit lebih tinggi dibandingkan anak perempuan.
