PERBANDINGAN PENGGUNAAN SINGLE PISTON CALIPER DENGAN DOUBLEPISTON CALIPER TERHADAP JARAK DAN WAKTU PENGEREMAN PADA RODA DEPAN KENDARAAN SEPEDA MOTOR REVO FIT
Abstract
This study was motivated by the problem, namely the use of different types of caliper on the same type of vehicle, as well as the cross-sectional area of the cylinder diameter or width of the two different types caliperyang. Where both types of caliper is used on the same types of vehicles, such as the 2009 Revo vehicles that use double-piston caliper and Revo in 2012 that uses a single piston caliper. This type of research use quasi ekprerimen method, which is only a few variables that can be controlled.
Based on data analysis found that: (1) Use of Double Piston Caliper front wheel motorcycle Revo Fit can affect the reduced braking distance and braking time compared Single Piston Caliper. This can be seen in the results of research on the emphasis and the same speed, as the mean of the single piston caliper braking distance 5.228 m, and the mean time of braking on a single piston caliper of 0.992 s, whereas on the other hand the use of double-piston caliper dipenekanan, and the same speed obtained braking distance of 4,721 m, and the braking time of 0.859 s. (2) The use of double-piston caliper is better than the single piston caliper in terms of distance and time pengereman.1) Caliper in this study is the place of attachment of the brake shoe / brake pads that will be connected to the piston caliper which is a medium for driving of pengereman.2) Spring scale or scales pull, serves to measure and determine the pressure on the brake pedal force. 3) Stopper, Stopper here for the barrier function of the brake pedal pressure. 4) The distance braking, the braking distance here means the distance or the extent to which the vehicle Honda Revo Fit the first is running and then braking until the vehicle Honda Revo Fit stopped. 5) Time lapse braking here means how much time it takes the vehicle Honda Revo Fit it to a stop.
