Abstract


ABSTRACT

The problem that the author encountered in the field indicates that the ability to run 100 meters Physical Education students allegedly by low explosive power leg muscle. This study aims to clarify the relationship of leg muscle explosive power with the ability to run a 100-meter sports education student.

This type of research is correlational research. The population in this study were all students of the Faculty of Physical Education Sport Science Padang State University who took a course athletics totaled 306 people. Given the large amount of sexy college athletics, the sampling was done by using purposive samplinng, so the total sample of 30 people. Instruments used to measure the explosive power leg muscle is a long jump test without prefix (standing broad jump test) and to measure the ability to run 100 meters using a test run of 100 meters of unity PASI.

These results indicate that there is a significant relationship between tugkai muscle explosive power with the ability to run a 100-meter sports education student state university faculty of sport science field with rhitung> rtabel on α -0.05 (-0.565> 0.361) and t count> t table (- 3.63> 2.05). Then the leg muscle explosive power accounted for 31.92% of the ability to run 100 meters student of Physical Education Faculty of Sport Science, State University of Padang.
