Synthesis of Graphene Oxide from Corncob Waste as Microwave Absorber with Modification Hummer Method
Abstract
RAM (Radar Absorbing Material) is required to absorb microwaves in radar technology. In general, absorber materials have high permeability and permittivity values. Graphene Oxide is one of the materials that can be applied as an absorber material. Therefore, research was conducted on the synthesis of graphene oxide from corncob waste using the modified hummer method. Variations in sintering temperature were applied to see the effect on the microwave absorbing properties. The sintering temperature used is starting from 300˚C, 350˚C, 400˚C and 450˚C. Characterization of graphene oxide from corncob waste using XRD, FTIR, and VNA. In the VNA test results, the maximum reflection loss value of graphene oxide is -40.35 dB at a frequency of 10.20 GHz with an absorption coefficient of 99.03% and an absorption bandwidth of 1.27 GHz. Therefore, graphene oxide from corncob waste has the potential to be applied as a microwave absorbing material
