KESIAPAN KEPALA SEKOLAH MENENGAH ATAS NEGERI KABUPATEN TANAH DATAR DALAM PENGIMPLEMENTASIAN KURIKULUM TINGKAT SATUAN PENDIDIKAN

Abstract


The present study aimed at investigating the readiness of the principals of Public High School at Kabupaten Tanah Datar in implementing the School Base Curruculum (KTSP). More specific, this study examines: (1) the principals’ knowledge of KTSP; (2) the principals’ understandings of KTSP; (3) the skills of the principals in implemeting KTSP; and (4) the ability of the principals in helping teachers to implement KTSP. The populations of this study were public high school principals at Kabupaten Tanah Datar. The total number of the population were 15 principals, and all of them were taken as respondents. Data were collected by using questionnaire and then analyzed by using mean score. The results showed that the knowledge and understanding of the principals concerning KTSP are still low; their ability and skills in implementing KTSP and in helping teacher to implement KTSP are also not really good.  In general, it can be said that the public high school principals in Kabupaten Tanah Datar are not really ready yet to implementing KTSP.
