Sintesis dan Karakterisasi Selulosa dari Kulit Pisang Kepok (Musa balbisiana Colla)
Abstract
Cellulose isolation from the kepok banana peel (Musa balbisiana Colla) has been carried out by means of dewaxing, delignification and bleaching process. This purpose of the study was to isolate cellulose in the peel of kepok banana fruit, determine the purity, and what is the type of cellulose from kepok banana peel. FTIR is used to identify cellulose functional group in kepok banana peel. Result of the study, a yield of the result of cellulose isolation of kepok banana peel was 23,70%, the melting point of cellulose was 280 ⁰C with the type of cellulose from kepok banana peel was α-cellulose. The result of characterization using FTIR are known to have cellulose groups contained in the kepok banana peel suc as –OH, -CH, and C-O groups whitch are the main functional groups in cellulose.
