Abstract


ABSTRACT

There are two possible alternative energy sources nowadays, namely renewable energy sources and nuclear energy source. Nuclear energy has a promising potential associated with large power generated and environmentally friendly (in the context of normal operation). Currently being developed some new reactors generation IV to replace reactors generation III that are currently operating and had almost reached the shut down period. One of the candidates in Generation IV nuclear reactors is Supercritical Water Reactor (SCWR). The study was conducted to obtain the reactor core design that has the most optimal for SCWR operation that produces maximum power than others. The results obtained, namely the composition for type I numerically assembly provides output power of 3575.15 MWT with an error of 0.00062%, while the composition of the assembly for type II numerically provide output power at 3269.17 MWT with an error of 0.00057%. The composition of type I provides greater power than the composition of type II but lack of stability than type II.
