Abstract


ABSTRACT

The study of learning activities, motivation and student achievement through guided inquiry has been carried out. This study was aimed at disclosing the effect of Guided Inquiry Approach on the students’ activities and motivation as well as the students’ learning achievement at section I Grade XII Chemistry class in SMAN 8 Padang. A two cycle classroom action research has been conducted at Semester January-June 2012/2013. The quantitative data were collected by using written test and the qualitative data was collected through observation. The data were then analyzed by a descriptive statistics. The findings of this study indicate that there is a significant improvement on the students’ activities and learning motivation. The improvement of the students’ activities in terms of students-teacher activities and also students-students activities in the class.
