Abstract


ABSTRACT

Creative thinking skills of students still be low because of some students are difficult both to understand and to map learning materials of physic for senior high school. The purpose of this study is to reveal an effort to improve creative thinking skills of students through development of the mind map on physics for senior high school grade X course. This research can be categorized into classroom action research uses cycle model. Subject in this research was all of students of physics education that listed at physics for senior high school grade X course in July-December 2015 are 32 peoples. Instruments to collect the data were test of creative thinking skill, observation sheets, and documentation. The technique that used in this research is percentage technique. Data analysis showed that the average value of creative thinking skills of students is 73.00 with the percentage of students who have reached the minimum value that predicate good was 68.75% for the implementation of the action in the second cycle. The value of creative thinking skills have increased significantly if it’s compared with the data in the first cycle in which the value of thinking skills of students amounted to 64.00 with the proportion of students who have reached the minimum value at good predicate is 40.62%. The result of the research has reached the standard target which more than 60% of students who listed at physics for senior high school grade X course have creative thinking skills with minimal predicate at good level (70-74). In conclusion, development the mind mapping of learning material on physics for senior high school grade X course have been improved creative thinking skills of students.
